How does solar work?

The basis of every solar system are the solar modules and the inverter. The solar radiation is converted into direct current by the solar cells of the solar modules. The inverter connected to the solar modules converts the direct current into alternating current that is compatible with the grid. This alternating current can then be used to operate household appliances. If less electricity is used than the solar system produces, the remaining electricity is fed into a battery storage system or into the public power grid.

Autarky

A battery storage system is economically worthwhile. With the current state of the art, a level of self-sufficiency of around 70-80% is possible when installing solar modules and battery storage. This means that you generate 70-80% of the electricity you use yourself and only buy 20-30%. Your savings are therefore higher than if you only install solar modules. Here you usually achieve a level of self-sufficiency of 30-40%.
